I was pleasantly surprised with this episode. It was actually really funny. “Kiss” was disasterous, “Afternoon Delight” was delightful, then we come to “Landslide.” I think Santana sums it up well:
I am about to watch Glee, for lack of better judgement. I say that because, as you may know, its been kinda weird lately. Errybody drinkin’, cheatin’, and making overall bad life choices. Alas, I still watch to see Sue say something racist, Biggin’ to bring it, and Erma to battle her OCD demons. With that being said, I usually do not look to see what songs are to be sung, I like to make it a surprise. But tonight I saw a list. As I read it, horror ensued.
Gwyneth Paltrow is singing “Landslide”. “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks. Normally I have no problem with covers, I welcome them in fact. Jamie Cullum’s cover of Rhianna’s “Don’t Stop The Music”- Kinda awesome (Thank you Food Lion for playing it all the time). But this is Stevie Nicks. Stevie Effing Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. I understand that Glee is all about some covers, BUT THIS IS STEVIE NICKS!!!! I didn’t really like it when The Dixie Chicks did it, I know I’m probably not going to like it when Rosemary from Shallow Hal does it (sweet movie though). Also dumb teenagers and douches alike. Please don’t be like, “I really like that Glee did The Dixie Chicks.” Eff you and your mother. Glee tried to do Stevie Effing Nicks not the GD Dixie Chicks. Will all this being said, watch it be awesome. It probably will not be, but I will get back to you.
